What's our number?

Hey Jason, was this past weekend when you were going to get the camper and landrush number at the fairgrounds?

I just found out I've got meetings in NYC on Monday and Tues of festival week that are going to be really tough to get out of. Worst case, I'll fly to ICT Tues evening and be in that evening. If I can worm my way out of the meetings, I'll be in on Sunday sometime.

What's up with everyone else on here? Cat got your typing fingers????

Camp Plans

Here's what I'm currently planning for setting up the camp.

I'll get to Winfield/AC late Saturday, maybe midnight. I'll be at the campgrounds by Sunday afternoon, and get a lineup spot for the camper and at least 4 tent permits. Those should cover 3 tent spots next to the camper, and 1 tent in the Pecan Grove.

I plan on setting up the camper in the general vicinity of last year, but closer to the Pecan Grove. The usual criteria of being far but not too far from Porta-Johns will be applied.

I'm planning on setting my large tent (sleeps 6) near Yeppers for late night picking/crashing. Based on the space Yeppers had last year after landrush, I'm going to focus on getting a good spot for the camper and tents before going after a Pecan Grove spot.

Lineup is Thursday 9-9-10 at 7 am. Anyone who wants to join is welcome. I probably won't be at the camp Monday and Tuesday before lineup, but should be back Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

If anyone has requests, suggestions, directives, edicts, advice, or just meandering thoughts, please speak up. As we always said in 4-H, this blog can serve to "Make the best better."

No explanation needed. Although I'm thinking there's an idea here. Wouldn't a camelback work much better than a beer purse???

New year, new blog...

Guess it's appropriate. Our camp seems to recreate itself in a slightly new version each year, why not also our blog? Who will Jason and Sara meet during Landrush this year? Will we have new neighbors, will our camp even be in the same spot? Will Dan the Tire Man have a new scar? The only thing I'm sure of this year is the music will be good, more regular around our camp, and have it's own new twist. Heck just today I heard the Oak Ridge Boys do their own version of "Seven Nation Army". If they can pull that off and even get airtime on XM, Winfield can handle just about anything we could possibly dish out!

I'm sure Jason and Sara have probably already worked out a plan for lining up, what's the word?

First Post - Feel free to make design suggestions. Things are a little later than last year, so we must move quickly !
